I have had an interest in cosmetology since I was young. At an early age I was inspired by watching my mother do her hair and makeup! She always wanted to look and feel her best and, once we had enough hair, she made sure my older sister and I did as well. I liked it so much that I wanted to imitate what my mom did for us so one of my first "clients" was my sister. It was not by appointment as it was a timely occurrence during playtime when Mom was not looking. My grandmother and great grandmother quickly realized how much I enjoyed hair and makeup and decided to let me experiment on them as well. "Beauty salon" became a favorite playtime activity. I did hair, makeup and nails for anyone who let me! By the time I was in high school I was prepping my sister and close friends for their proms and other formal events.

I never really considered cosmetology as a career and went to college after graduating from High School. But my time in college lasted only one year due to me spending more time as the dormitory's hairstylist, makeup artist and nail technician than focusing on my studies. After a heart-to-heart with my parents at the end of my first year it was clear to all of us that my love was in cosmetology. So, I left college and enrolled at the International Institute of Cosmetology in Wethersfield, CT where I completed both their cosmetology and esthetics programs. Thanks to their amazing teachers I have been able to advance my hobby into a career and do what I have always wanted- help make others look and feel their best!
